PROJECT STORY
Sloping Block
Project
A steep backyard challenge
turned into the family's
favourite place.
Many homeowners assume a sloping backyard rules out the possibility of having a swimming pool.
The truth is, with the right design, engineering and construction team, a challenging site can become one of the most impressive pool projects you’ll ever see.
This is exactly what we achieved on this project in
The Gap, Brisbane.

The steep slope meant the backyard was almost unusable. The clients wanted a pool, a functional entertaining area and easy access from the home.
The main challenge was creating a design that worked with the land, not against it.
We needed a solution that was structurally sound, visually striking and added long-term value.
We designed a multi-level outdoor space that integrates the pool seamlessly with the natural slope.
The concrete pool was built approximately 1.2 metres above the existing ground level, supported by expertly engineered retaining walls.
Wide sandstone steps, tiered gardens and multiple landing areas create a safe and practical flow from the house to the pool.

Excavation
Building on a slope requires more than just excavation. It requires careful engineering and planning.
Our team designed and engineered the retaining structures to ensure stability and longevity.
The result is a space that is not only beautiful but built to last.
