Concrete Lap Pool (Burbank)

If this isn’t the ultimate swimming pool then we don’t know what is.

Designed and built by Cityscapes Pool and Landscapes in the Brisbane suburb of Burbank, the design choice was easy; a family with a tri-athlete father who loves to swim long distance and three teenage children. A concrete lap pool was their dream along with the perfect entertaining area so the mother was able to socialise with family and friends.

Situated on a large block and family home, it was important the pool and landscaping design was in proportion to the scale of the space.

Whilst the budget for this project was on the higher end of the scale, it was used to achieve the most practical design whilst meeting the brief objectives. When building concrete pools on large residential blocks, everything ends up bigger in size and scale and therefore usually results in a higher cost. The swimming pool took up half the budget purely due to its size.

The entertaining area was kept rather simple but effective. An outdoor fire pit was incorporated so this family can entertain friends and family in style.

The Silver Travertine from the Pool Tile Company was the perfect choice for this project as its non-slip (ideal for families) and cool underfoot (ideal for the warm Brisbane climate).
