Jules McLaughlin – Company Owner | Head Pool Builder
Qualified in Pool Building & Structural Landscapes, Jules McLaughlin has been in the Brisbane swimming pool industry since he started as a building apprentice back in 1990.
Fast forward 30 years and Jules is now living his dream as the owner of Cityscapes Pools and Landscapes providing concrete swimming pools for families right across Brisbane (40 km radius).
Jules McLaughlin is a hands-on builder who places great importance on building and maintaining strong relationships with his clients. Just show Jules a photo of any of the hundreds of concrete pools he has constructed around Brisbane and he could tell you when, where and who it was (trust us, we tested him!)
Jules prides himself on great communication with both clients and contractors. He excels in project management by making sure every step of the project has been considered so each trade can work to their best.
He is hard working, reliable, approachable and enjoys nothing more than being able to sit by a recently finished swimming pool and enjoy a cold beer!
Alison Ahlberg – Project Designer and Estimator (Diploma Horticulture)
Alison joined the Cityscapes Pool and Landscapes family in 2014 and leads the design and cost estimation area of the company. She began her career as a Landscape Designer and Horticulturist in 1999, before expanding her skills as an Estimator in 2011.
Her concrete pool and landscaping designs are flawless, eye catching and beautiful while remaining functional and practical for families all over Brisbane. In 2018 one of concrete pool designs was awarded Queensland’s Best Pool Project – yay go Alison!!
Alison has been using 3D rendering software for her designs for over 9 years, which allows her clients to fully visualise her design. This means her clients can visualise her concepts before the construction stage begins.
One of the best qualities about Alison is her honesty. She will always endeavour to make sure her clients are fully informed and able to provide the best design possible for their budget.
David Moss - (General Manager)
David is a qualified Landscape Architect and Horticulturist. He has been in the swimming pool industry since 1990 and his pool designs have won several awards in NSW.
Prior to joining Cityscapes Pools and Landscape he held roles in swimming pool design, construction, sales, and marketing. His most valuable skill in the role he holds today is the practical experience he gained as a Swimming Pool Builder Supervisor and Landscape Construction Manager. Having worked these roles, he really gets what’s involved and is able to deliver on the client’s expectations.
David is an all-rounder and likes to be involved with anything concrete pools. His expertise covers a wide range of concrete swimming pool and landscape designs from the traditional family backyard pool to difficult sites, semi-commercial and multi-residential projects.
Grace Urbanska - Przeor Bach.Architecture, Landscape and Project Designer
Architect, Landscape and Project Designer Grace joined the Cityscapes Pools team in September 2020 as pool and landscape designer and project estimator. She is bringing with her over 20-year of experience working with the best in the industry. She draws on her architectural and product design qualifications to deliver impressive outcomes of high aesthetic value and function. She is a recipient of multiple industry awards, including People’s Choice and Technical Difficulty.
She loves working closely with the clients to understand their needs, budget perimeters, site challenges and structural requirements. Grace’s design work is bold and eye-catching, much more than just a pool in the backyard. Her presentation skills are distinctive and colourful. Grace follows the industry trends, creatively applying new and proven materials, and techniques, giving them new life in every project. The process of design is evolving in the front of the client’s eyes. It is not uncommon for the whole family to get involved, beaming with excitement.
Adam Close- Landscaper
Adam is your go-to man for all thing’s horticulture. He is known around here as the laid back, happy go lucky bloke but when he’s working gardens it’s all business.
Adam has a talent for creating beautiful gardens and landscapes. It would be hard to find a plant that Adam doesn’t know and you’d be amazed at the details he can tell you.
He is hard working and takes great pride in delivering his landscaping jobs to perfection.
