Project Pool (Carindale)

This project was designed as a combination of the client desire to have a private and functional pool which nestled into an existing courtyard and encompassed the existing terraced gardens.

The access was via the front yard resulting in the need to redevelop the front courtyard which was then grassed to provide a new open space looking out from the lounge area of the home.

The pool was positioned to be a visual feature from the main part of the home and link to the already established large entertaining patio which has wide opening doors out from the home.

An existing lower-level masonry retaining wall was demolished, recessed back and reconstructed as part of the pool to achieve a wider pool. A new pool side seating area was then created at a step up from the pool level creating a view over the pool through to the front lawn area.

Travertine paved pathways and pool surrounds were installed linking the front entry through to the pool area. New gardens were then planted to create a lush vegetation surround the area and integrating into the existing screen hedges with espalier planting used to eventually hide the higher timber boundary fence.
Glass fencing has been used to provide a seamless view of the pool from all aspects of the home..
